SciFi Now - The 15 Ultimate Geek Icons

British science fiction magazine SciFi Now has ranked the 15 ultimate geek icons, using four index numbers, in its issue 70, published in August 2012.

They don't belong to the red carpet, nor the Hollywood walk of fame; they belong to us.

Summer Glau, as well as other Joss Whedon Alumni, James Marsters, Seth Green, Anthony Head and Nathan Fillion (highest Cult Rating) made the list. SciFiNow also granted Summer Glau the Franchise Tourist (moving between brands) and TV Hero (Small screen superstar) icons.

I didn't watch the episode at all, i just watched the scene on the train in Youtube smile

I'm glad she guest starred in TBBT though because it gave Summer more exposure and the audience of TBBT is more sitcom than sci-fi (but maybe i'm wrong); which means it's helpul in the grand scheme of Summer Glau branching out from sci-fi.

As you may know, i'm a huge TSCC fan and i will always remember Summer Glau for her role as Cameron Phillips; that said, may i humbly remark that Summer played Cameron for two seasons in TSCC. That means she had time to dive deeper into the way she played Cameron and accompagny the character development, that's way more than she could do in Firefly, even if you take in account Serenity.

Of course Firefly has a greater impact on geek culture than TSCC but that doesn't necessarily mean that her "defining character" is River Tam.

your absolutely right chris spot on tscc will always be the best for summer glau for her role as cameron phillips and its a great shame as we all know it didnt get renewed for season three and enhance her reputation of what a great actress that she was as cameron phillips to me her defining character really should be cameron phillips but thats just my opinion as i love tscc as well
