SyFy UK tweeted today about a poll they're conducting : Quote @SyfyUK Syfy UK Who do you think is the sexiest sci-fi babe or hunk out there? Vote now! surveymonkey.com/s/66CCB7W Some dedicated fans pointed out that the words 'sci-f'i and 'babe' were assimilated to Summer Glau in this type of competition. A few minutes later, SyFy UK admitted his mistake and asked the fans via twitter to suggest other nominations. Quote @SyfyUK Syfy UK Hi Syfy fans! We agree a few sci-fi hunks & babes have been missed off our list, so send us who you want to see & we'll try get them added. Two minutes later, they tweeted that Summer Glau & Amanda Taping (Stargate SG-1) are a must : Quote @SyfyUK Syfy UK By the way, Summer Glau & Amanda Tapping are a must. Thank you for helping nominate Summer! The nominations are over now. SyFy UK has removed their previous poll but has not released another list yet; we will have to wait a little longer to know if the we succeeded to nominate Summer. But at least it's a great satisfaction to see that simple tweets from fans (it was me and another fan) can have an influence and make the website of a channel change their plan and article. Maybe..but in any case this is a bad move from a marketing point of view; when protesting that Summer Glau was not on the list, i tweeted to @syfyuk that they should at least show some solidarity by adding Summer Glau in a poll released the same day their big US sister aired an episode of Alphas guest starring Summer. All the more that The Cape is airing these days at syfy UK (Alphas will probably follow the same path), not to mention Syfy US has boughts the right to air TSCC.
