I doubt you will learn anything new about Summer Glau or TSCC in this interview made for Extra on February 24th 2008 but she's looks lovely. Also lol at Summer describing how she tought they would hire for the role of Cameron a 6" blond bombshell...like the interviewer in front of her. Cameron: He’s not a guy. He’s a scary robot. That day is going to rock. Nothing could make it better. Hehehe. If only I knew... ...So, we got a little closer...and I caught little glimpses of Adam, and Nathan...Morena too. And then...here comes the motherload, people. Through a gap in the crowd I saw Summer. And then, she looked over, and our eyes met. I need to remember to breathe as I type this, cos reliving this moment makes me emotional! Her face lit up right away, and she smiled and waved over at me and mouthed "Hi!". I was overcome with joy. Obviously I smiled and waved back too! Then I blew her a kiss...and she blew me one back! I couldn't believe it. After that, I had tears in my eyes, I was so happy. I could have forgotten everything else and just gone home happy after that... ...Then when me and Jason came to the front of the queue and we're waiting...Summer looked at us and then turned to Morena and said "My boys are here." I was so chuffed, and touched. The thought that she not only remembered us, but called us "her boys" warmed me through and through... ...Then it was over to Summer & Morena. Wow! I said hi, and Morena said "Hey you! How are you doing?" So I'm guessing maybe she remembered me from the first con? Who knows! She was wearing a lovely gold outfit that looked companion-like! I told her that it looked lovely. I told Summer that I had written her a letter on the way up... and I gave it to her, she said "Aww, thank you very much." And I told her and Morena that I was going to see Serenity that night!! Summer was really pleased, as she knew I hadn't seen it yet. Morena asked if it was the first time I had seen it, and I said yes, and she said "Ah, wow, you're going to love it!" And then I asked if I could have a photo with them. And Morena said "Sure! Come round here." So I went round the other side of the table (And a few days after someone told me on a thread that all the security gaurds near him started freaking out when I did that.) and I got between the two of them, while Jason took the photo. But the flash didn't go off, so I ad to stay there...between the two of them, while he put the flash on and took another one. I'd like to point out that I started off evenly between Morena and Summer, and Summer leant in closer to me, so I did likewise! lol! As you would! Then I thanked them and was hussled on... We often complains in this forum about the fact that Summer Glau has not the recognition and fame that she deserves but this is ignoring that she got her chance in Hollywood. When was it? When Serenity was released obviously. Indeed, Summer ranked on top of IMDb's Starmeter index (see http://summerglauwiki.com/forum/23-326-12329-16-1329489953), which means she was the most viewed actress on IMDb for the time period; and even if i didn't know Summer Glau at the time, the more i see articles and videos of that period, the more i see how Summer and Serenity cast were under the spotlights. You have to realize that Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion and Summer Glau did the European tour for the promotion of Serenity, while the others actors were only at the Edimburgh premiere. Imagine what it's like for B-list actors to be part of the Hollywood (as in "distributed by a major company like Universal") frenzy. It never happened again for them to my knowledge; though this is happening again for Whedon with upcoming The Avengers. For example there is another hint at the buzz created around Summer herself given by the GMTV's journalist talking about "hot talks" on Summer : see at 3:20 of the video : Nathan Fillion and Summer Glau on GMTV on October 05, 2005 Cameron: He’s not a guy. Another great story about Summer Glau meeting her fans; here's the video of Summer on set of TSCC and the corresponding explanations : Met up with Summer Glau on the set of Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles on Wednesday, October 15th, 2008. Quote (fans on set) We were winners of contests. The promotion was set up to award six winners with a trip for two. Five winners were chosen from local radio station contests involving sending text messages. Us Magazine also picked one winner (me) from e-mail entries received from across the U.S. Two winners blew the trip off. Weird! The roundtrip flight, hotel room, and all ground transportation were covered. Also included a VIP tour of Warner Brothers Studios and a free lunch at the WB commissary. The original plan was to visit the TSCC set on the Warner Brothers lot, but they were filming on location that day so they put us in a van and drove us all the way to the Sarah Connor house to meet just the cast that was there that day. Watching them film a scene on location was very cool. Fan : what was the last movie you saw that made you cry? Summer : 3:10 to Yuma I couldn't get if Summer was talking about the original movie from 1957 or the 2008 remake.  Cameron: He’s not a guy. He’s a scary robot. Charley: He’s a scary robot? But you? Quote (chrisdvanne) I couldn't get if Summer was talking about the original movie from 1957 or the 2008 remake. IMO I think it was 2008 one since Alan Tudyk was in it and died. I doubt she would've seen the old one anyway but she did get tp see Christian Bale act so I guess that's a good thing. |
