Joe Lynch gives exclusive information about his Knights of Badassdom cut, reveals the name of a famous action star who has seen Lynch's cut and loved it, and gives hope to all the fans who wants to see the unreleased version of the horror comedy starring Peter Dinklage, Summer Glau, Ryan Kwanten, Steve Zahn, Margarita Levieva, Danny Pudi and Jimmi Simpson.
Joe Lynch was at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas in September 2014 for the world premiere of his Salma Hayek high-octane, high-body count, bulletfest of an action movie 'Everly'. Entertainment site We Got This Covered interviewed Lynch about Everly but could not pass the opportunity to talk about Knights of Badassdom.
Here's an excerpt from Lynch's interview:
Kurt Russell watched *my cut* of Knights Of Badassdom and said it was better than Ghostbusters. MY CUT! Not the one that went out, the version I had.
Lynch must be particularly proud to have been validated by Snake Plissken himself, since he revealed his son’s middle name is "Plissken". Verily!
Later in the interview, Lynch talks about scenes that were cut in the released version and why.
WGTC: So I have to end talking about Knights Of Badassdom. Your cut exists. People have seen it. Kurt freaking Russell has seen it and loved it. Others rave about it. Why hasn’t the public seen it yet and when are we going to? This is something that needs to happen.
Joe Lynch: No comment! [winks emphatically] I’ll tell you this – eOne has approached me about [my cut]. The version released was extremely successful on VOD and Blu-Ray, EXTREMELY successful, and look, there’s a lot of fans of the movie. If you didn’t know anything about the controversy, you’d think it’s a fun little romp. It’s just unfortunate that I was never given a DGA (Directors Guild Of America) screening, and that’s mandatory. My version has been seen – Kurt Russell saw it and said it was better than Ghostbusters – do I need to say anymore? I was making The Goonies for grownups where the final product ended up being more Role Models with the little bit of blood they couldn’t cut out and were stuck with.
WGTC: I sat there watching Knights Of Badassdom knowing full-well your version probably contains so many decapitations, bloody battles, and absolute insanity, and THAT’S what I want to see. Is that pretty on-point?
Joe Lynch: Oh completely, but it’s not even that. There’s a whole 10 minute ending that was cut purely for financial reasons. They didn’t want to finish the special effects and the owner didn’t like someone’s dress. I was like, “Come on, really? That’s the reason why?” He was like, “No, of course not!” Yea, whatever, that was the reason why.
But yes, someday my version will be released, it will definitely happen.

Artist Jason Palmer, well known in the science-fiction universe for his various rendition of characters from Battlestar Galactica, Firefly and others, did an Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo exclusive print that was available at his booth, featuring all the media guests in one picture.
In Palmer's 2014 Edmonton Expo print (see picture below), you'll recognize (from left to right) Hannibal's Mads Mikkelsen, Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Arrow's Summer Glau holding two swords, Angel and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s J. August Richards, The Big Bang Theory's Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar, Hellboy's Doug Jones, Falling Skies's Noah Wyle, Angel and Dollhouse's Amy Acker, The A-Team and Battlestar Galactica's Dirk Benedict and Supernatural's Jim Beaver.
Palmer's version of Summer Glau featured in this print is a mix between River Tam from Firefly/Serenity (notice the sword she's holding in her left hand), Cameron from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (the drawing is inspired by a TSCC promotional photo) and Isabel Rochev/Ravager from Arrow (notice the sword in her right hand and her tactical belt).

Summer Glau will meet her fans at the Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo this weekend and we all know she has a very tight schedule but I really hope she'll have time to meet some of the other media guests. Indeed, the star-studded 2014 Edmonton Expo line-up includes familiars faces such as Amy Acker, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar or J. August Richards.
I'm very well aware most of you know perfectly who they are, but let me refresh your memory and present a selection of images featuring these actors, both on and off screen.
Amy Acker is a member of the Whedonverse, and just like Summer, she has appeared in multiple shows or movies Joss Whedon has done in the past, including Angel, Dollhouse, or more recently Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Their last encounter on TV - in Dollhouse 2.11 'Getting Closer' - did not end well, but hopefully Summer forgave Amy.

Watch Summer Glau and Thomas Dekker as they came over to meet with the winners of a nationwide promotion set up by FOX. The promotion sent six lucky fans to Los Angeles to an all expenses paid visit of the set of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on October 15th, 2008. The meet and greet with the TSCC stars took place at the Connor's house from season two since they were filming on location that day.
The following is the comment from the fan who filmed the videos:
We arrived on the set just as everyone took a lunch break. So we took a tour of the house that was being used as the set. When recording resumed, we were able to watch Thomas Dekker, Leven Ramblin and Summer Glau rehearse a scene on video monitors on the back porch. During a break, Dekker and Ramblin came out and met with us. Lasted about five minutes. Thomas Dekker and Leven Ramblin went back inside, and Summer Glau came out and did the same. She was with us maybe four minutes. There wasn't much else to do after that, so we left.
During her brief interview, Summer was asked what was the last movie she saw that made her cry. She answered by mentioning the movies she loved watching this year were the 2007 western "3:10 to Yuma" and the latest Rocky.
Screen captures of Summer Glau from this brief interview with Summer on set of TSCC have been added to the photo gallery.
